Update on Mehdi N. situation in Germany (April 5, 09)

First of all we should thank all of Iranian queer supporters who sent letter to German authorities regarding Mehdi N.’s asylum application in Germany.

On April 1st, Office of Michael Cashman MEP, Secretariat of the Intergroup on Gay and Lesbian Rights of the European Parliament informed us that the Minister of Justice in Germany Ms.Zypries is involved. She has told the President of European Parliament´s Socialist Group Martin Schulz that she is on the case of Mehdi N. and she will look closer at it.

 The European Parliament´s Intergroup on Gay and Lesbian Rights is still waiting for answers from the German Ministers of Justice and the Interior as well as from the President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pöttering.

Mehdi N. is an Iranian homosexual who fled Iran to Germany. He has well-known fear of persecution on base of his sexual orientation. If you need more information you can visit here.
