IRQR Language Program Since most asylum seekers are going to need English language in their destination country, and in order to help asylum seekers make most of their time while waiting for their cases to pass the UNHCR process, IRQR has embarked upon assisting LGBT asylum seekers learn or improve their English through IRQR Language Program classes. IRQR Language Program provides free EFL classes for all LGBT asylum seekers and refugees staying in Turkey. The first terms of these classes will be held in the city of Kayseri and will be expanded to other cities should LGBT asylum seekers in other cities ask for them. IRQR Language Program will be committed to: - Provide all the services free of charge - Test each learner to figure out their language level - Syllabus will be designed according to the level of students - The syllabus of each 16 session term will be given to learners in writing - All language skills (speaking, listening, writing and reading) will be practiced during each term.
IRQR Language Program expects learners to: - Avoid talking about their UNHCR process and their living situations during the classes. - Be present at the class on time. Delay in arrival of learners will not delay the class or make the class repeat what has already been worked on. - Consider that these classes are part of IRQR free service, using the service fully will be up to the asylum seeker. - Report short comings if seen, to IRQR authorities.
